![]() ![]() He had a great few games for the Eagles last year, but had a terrible preseason. The Eagles now have a workman, student of the game type QB in Kevin Kolb. It probably will be a few weeks before they are clicking on all cylinders. Santana Moss dropped some balls in the preseason and if he continues to do so, will limit the depth on offense for McNabb. The offensive line is also a question mark, and McNabb appears ready to start the opener, even though he is not 100% healthy. The Redskins now have McNabb, possibly Haynesworth, and Portis and Larry Johnson in the backfield. They have a star-studded above average defense. The question for the Cowboys is also the offensive line, and the play-calling. The Cowboys added Dez Bryant to compliment Miles Austin on the other side and he appears ready to start the opener. The offensive line and the secondary will need to be much improved over last year for the Giants to win the division and go far into the playoffs. Steve Smith should be good to go for week one and Bradshaw looks to be the #1 back. ![]() The Giants have gotten healthier in the secondary, which was a major problem last year, however in the preseason they did not prove that. Some could say you can toss a four-sided dice to determine the winner. The NFC East is a much trickier division, as it is year after year. In that division, I anticipate the Rams winning more games this year. ![]() Bradford looked very sharp in the preseason, and he seems to have gotten an improved offensive line behind him. The Saint Louis Rams have definitely seemed to have gotten better in the offseason, with the obvious Sam Bradford as the #1 overall pick in the 2010 draft. That being said, they weren't any good last year, and they most likely will not get better in the first year under Carroll. Pete Carroll seems set on breeding fresh rookies. The shakeup in Seattle is probably the biggest story of the offseason. San Fran will continue to play their style of ball, pounding the rock and playing good defense (best defense in the division). Its all on Alex Smith now in SF as he has the weapons and the tools. 3, 2022.If I only tracked my picks for week one of the 2009 season, I would know that picking the week one winners in any season is a major feat, not to mention the barrage of moves that went on in the offseason that sent players like Boldin and Housh to Baltimore, Kurt Warner to his couch (leaving Arizona a much tougher bet-along with Derek Anderson at quarterback and no Karlos Dansby on defense), the 49ers beefed up their offensive line drafting two rookies in the first round and also adding Brian Westbrook as a nice compliment to Frank Gore.
